A Night of Subjective Comedy

July 18
7:30 PM
Hammer Museum: West Hollywood

Event Overview

Aparna & Friends: A Night of Subjective Comedy. Last year was a notable one for New York-based stand-up comic and writer Aparna Nancherla: she starred in her own, half-hour Comedy Central special; launched a podcast on comedy and depression, Blue Woman Group, with co-host Jacqueline Novak; and released her first comedy album, Just Putting It Out There, on Tig Notaro’s label, on which she further riffed about depression and anxiety, dating and living in Los Angeles vs. living in N.Y. Before that, she wrote for Late Night with Seth Meyers and Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, and appeared on Inside with Amy Schumer. Tonight, as part of the Hammer Museum’s series of feminist-themed programs, Bureau of Feminism, Nancherla hosts the museum’s “first ever female-only comedy extravaganza,” with fellow comedians Marlena Rodriguez, Erin Lennox and Naomi Ekperigin.
